After opening up shop in chinatown in 2012, owners Eunice Quan and David Lin have teamed up with good friendArmin Tehrani to open a second board of trade store in Gastown. The clothing concept store similarly aims to showcase a carefully picked mix of quality products from young designers in fashion, art and design, and all with an affordable price tag. Much of the previous occupant's store interior has been retained with only the back section having been revamped.
The various displays and furnishings have been made with the helps of friends, and add a touch of d.i.y. chic that's very compatible with the merchandise. And speaking of which, the newest board of trade store expands on a current roster of cool brands such as a kind of guise, painkiller and i love ugly, and focuses on stocking useable objects that also fall into the category of functional art. new brands include grain, kiel mead, serpent sea and reed wilson design. location: 206 carrall street
