Following the opening of their first retail space in Fitzroy little over four years ago, Amy and Adam Coombes, the husband and wife team behind australian fashion brand Kloke, have recently ventured into melbourne's buzzing downtown district with a sleek new outpost.
They picked a ground floor location at qv, a popular mall that's home to a slew of leading names in fashion and lifestyle brands, and accordingly upped the ante in the store aesthetic department
. Behind a wooden frame and a floor-to-ceiling glass façade, local architect David Goss created an understated setting which has clearly taken cues from brutalist architecture, featuring stuccoed walls and ceiling, molded into single aesthetic entity with incisions and protrusions that make these seem part of the building.

Furnishings are incorporated into the design, and comprise of concrete volumes that serve as sales counter and displays, while three suspended rails that showcase kloke's apparel collections, add a graphic edge to the design.

Lush plants, situated at either end of the retail space, add further visual layering. The new Kloke Boutique carries the brand's full range of men's and women's apparel, accessories, jewellery and sunglasses.
